The Links at Spanish Bay, Pebble Beach. This is also a wetlands project. The Links is one of the great habitat restoration stories in golf. Many of the areas off the fairway are off limits to golfers (thankfully, local rules allow a free drop at the point of entry into protected areas). Spanish Bay was the site of Samuel F. B. Morse’s sand-mining operation in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, until restoration was undertaken by the Pebble Beach Company a couple of decades ago, to accommodate a genuine links design by 5-time British Open winner Tom Watson and Sandy Tatum, former president of the United States Golf Association. Called Marsh Corner, it’s the 8th hole at the Links. When the golf course construction project began, rusted conveyors and sand-mining equipment littered the site. Restoration included re-forming sand dunes, as well as specialized habitat areas and native plants. Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Pebble Beach, also utilizes E P Aeration equipment to aerate its lakes.
You too can use the same aeration technology used by hundreds
of the most renowned golf courses in the country.
